Namra, a Senior in Fashion Business Management (left) and Nicole, a Fashion Design alumni (right) started Waste X Change in the Summer of 2020. Both were Resident Assistants at F.I.T and noticed the large amount of residential waste students generated at the end of the semester, as they moved out of the dorms. Waste X Change's original initiative centered on re-routing usable campus waste to NYC's homeless population. But as Covid-19 continued, they decided to create a digital sustainable education platform, where they could use their passion for merchandising, product creation, sustainability, and community to offer a holistic look at the fashion industry's environmental and ethical problems.
